Watson’s Mill State Park
Watson Mill Bridge State Park
Watson Mill Bridge State Park, located in Comer Georgia, is among the most picturesque state parks in Georgia. The Watson Mill Bridge is the longest covered bridge in Georgia and stretches and impressive 229 feet across the South Fork River. The bridge was built by Washington King in 1885. King was the son of a freed slave who was known for his work on covered bridges.

While at the park, you can enjoy hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, canoe rentals, and fishing. Horseback riding costs $8 and there are 12 miles of trails as well as stalls, but you must bring your own horse. You can also rent a cabin that sleeps 8 for $60.

This park is a great way to spend the day. My children enjoy coming here to swim in the pond and have a picnic. Watson Mill Bridge State Park is ideal for family time or alone time to hit the trails and leave the world behind for a while.

The park is open daily from 7 AM until 10 PM. For more information, call (706)-783-5349 or visit http://www.gastateparks.org/info/watson/
