PITTSFIELD, MA.   NYC Cabaret singer & pianist Ron Ramsay and Berkshire vocalist Samantha Talora present “The Ron & Sam Variety Show” Friday, March 13th, 7:30pm at The American Legion, Post 68, 41Wendell Ave., Pittsfield. 

"The Ron & Sam Variety Show” is an assortment of musical genres and styles ranging from popular standards, sultry jazz numbers, many nostalgic tunes and a nod to the upcoming St. Patty’s Day holiday.  The duo, best known for their eclectic musical styles and non-stop banter take the audience with eager participation on a toe-tapping, whimsical journey thorough the American pop culture that include such diverse composers as George Gershwin, Sonny Bono, Irving Berlin, Van Morrison, Stephen Sondheim and many more. The show features woodwind performer & guitarist, Michael Gillespie, “The Ron & Sam Variety Show” is sure to have you dancing in the aisles and singing out loud for days!

Since the beginning of their collaboration in the Spring of 2014. Ramsay & Talora have been performing throughout the Berkshires , captivating audiences with their series of sold-out performances of “Our Time”, “An Evening of Song”, “Metaphor” and most recently “Affairs of the Heart” at Ventfort Hall in Lenox, Ma. Radio personality, Bill Sturgeon acclaims “Talora & Ramsay knocked it out of the park…their combined talents make one think that they are sitting in a club in a major city anywhere in the world.”

Michael Gillespie is a woodwind performer and teacher in Berkshire County.  Holding degrees from Penn State University and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Mr. Gillespie is currently the elementary band, chorus, and general music teacher in the Berkshire Hills Regional School District.  He also teaches woodwind lessons privately.

Samantha Talora was born and raised in the Berkshires, attended high school locally, and Wagner College on Staten Island, NY from which she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration and studied extensively in both theater and music; travelling and performing in various venues throughout the United States, including the Isaac Stern Auditorium at New York’s famed Carnegie Hall. Since returning to the Berkshires over a decade ago, Talora has had the pleasure of working as a solo artist as well as being a featured guest artist with many talented artists and ensembles including the Berkshire Concert Choir and Stockbridge Festival Chorus;  and in such venues as The Red Lion Inn, Canyon Ranch, The Berkshire Museum, The Berkshire Music School, Searles Castle, The Colonial Theater and Barrington Stage Company.

A Berkshire native, Ron Ramsay studied both voice and piano at the High School for the Performing Arts in Dallas Texas and the Manhattan School of Music in NYC, making NYC his home base. Classically trained, Ron crossed over to the Broadway and Cabaret. .His cabaret nightclub acts have sold out such rooms as the Algonquin, Iridium, The Village Vanguard, Feinstein’s, Town Hall, Lincoln Center’s Rose Room and Judy’s Chelsea as well as venues in such locales as London, Paris and Mykonos.  The New York Post raves of past performance "unusually well stocked and thoughtful, high quality songs …always a sublime Songbook".  Backstage and Theatermania.com  “one of the most well rounded and extraordinary shows in recent memory”.  Ron is also the Director of Music Programs at St. Ann’s Church in Lenox, MA and Music Director at Whitney Center for the Arts in Pittsfield.
