The Suffield Players Announce 4th Annual “New Faces” Summer Theatre Program

The Suffield Players will once again be performing plays by contemporary playwrights, featuring the talents of local actors new to the Mapleton Hall stage on August 15 at 2 and 8 pm.

The brain-child of director/producer Shaun O’Keefe, “New Faces” is designed to teach, inspire and develop the theatrical talents of all participants. The program is a fresh approach to theatre, as both the actors involved, and the works being performed, are new.

Everyone 16 years and up who joins the company performs in short new plays by authors from around the country.  The actors are either completely new to the Mapleton Hall stage, or have only performed briefly in small roles for The Suffield Players in the past.

“New Faces” is an opportunity for actors to work with experienced directors in scene study and actor’s craft. This summer, 6 talented directors will be leading the learning: Becky Beth Benedict, Hal Chernoff, Andrew Gilbert, Stephanie Gilbert, Anna Marie Johansen and Paul DiProto.

The Playwrights whose new work will be performed are: Alex Chernoff, Susan Goodell, Donna Hoke, Dean Lundquist, John Minigan and Joe Starzyk.

The New Faces actor ensemble consists of Sadie Andros, Mason Beiter, Karyn Burns, John Droney, Monique Dubois, Patricia Howard, Silk Johnson, Courtney Lyons, Nicole Migliozzi, Brianne Roberts, Orlando Santos, Debra Stein and Trish Urso.

No reservations are needed to attend the New Faces 2015 performance on August 15 at 2 and 8 pm in Mapleton Hall in Suffield, CT. There is a $10 donation suggested. Join us for some fine new theatre at The Suffield Players this summer!
