Annie Guthrie and Bobby Sweet will be performing together at The Spectrum Playhouse on Saturday, June 28th, at 8:00pm. The two will be sharing the stage in an intimate and informal “in the round” style.  Tickets are $10 and available in advance via www.spectrumplayhouse.org.

Bobby Sweet has recently returned home from his third US tour with folk legend Arlo Guthrie. His New Folk/Americana style has drawn comparisons to John Prine, Jackson Browne, Guy Clark, and a countrified Bruce Springsteen. An engaging storyteller and dynamic performer, he is a sixth-generation musician who began his performing career in his father’s band at age 7. His songs have received honorable mentions from The New York Songwriter’s Circle Songwriting Contest, The UK Songwriting Contest, The Billboard Songwriting Contest, and The Mountain Stage NewSong Contest. He has also written songs that have aired on hit television series such as Nashville, Touched By An Angel, CSI, Walker Texas Ranger, Soul Food, and Judging Amy.

Annie Guthrie is a prolific songwriter and versatile musician, playing acoustic guitar, bass, and autoharp. Her songs are a pure reflection of her life — as Woody says, “You can only write what you see,” and she has taken that to heart, writing songs that tell it like it is. Guthrie has been singing ever since she can remember, even appearing at the age of four on Arlo’s album Someday, and later on Woody’s 20 Grow Big Songs, and More Together Again. Previously she has performed with her siblings as The GBabes, with Folk Uke, and with The Guthrie Family Rides Again Tour.
